Volt II (Tour #2) Challenging large energy infrastructures October 9-12, 2015 The Peoples Energy Sovereignty Network (Catalonia) you to participate in the second edition of its tour or Volt II, a three-day bus trip to different places that will see impacts from large energy infrastructures. Besides learning more about these projects, the purpose also is to establish relations between local groups and campaigns and make alliances to achieve collective responses in the future. An important part of these projects are gas and electricity interconnections promoted by the European Union. The EU passes supranational plans, such as the Energy Union with its projects of common interest or the Juncker Plan, providing public financing and accelerated administrative procedures for the execution of these projects. This often contrasts with local realities within the EU, where people feel like passive spectadors of these procedures, but also with realities outside the EU borders, since the infrastructure projects affect territories as far as Northern Africa, the Middle East and the Caspian Sea. In addition to many regional organizations, known activists from international activist groups such as Asamblea Nacional de Afectads Ambientales (Mexico), Movimiento de Afectados por las Represas (Brazil), CEE Bankwatch (Latvia, Macedonia and Romania), Platform London (UK), Re:common (Italy), and others to be confirmed, will participate with the tour Volt II.
