SCIENCE Ocean observing is a critical foundation for understanding our changing ocean during this unprecedented time of rapid climate change. In its 15th year of operations, ONC's world-leading deep ocean and coastal observing systems are continuously being improved and expanded. ONC’s networks are an essential component of Canada’s ocean observing science capacity and a high priority to the international science community. With an agile and innovative culture, along with highly skilled staff of scientific and technical experts, educators, and community builders, ONC provides the foundation to enable multi-disciplinary, transformative ocean science and ocean intelligence—which ONC defines as the bridge that connects data and knowledge to action and change.
