THE boys treated the travelling Cobra supporters who ventured out to Lara with a tremendous performance of which they should be proud. A fine day and dry ground allowed us to showcase our skills and teamwork which after quarter time overwhelmed our opponents. Nick Anastassious and Luke Bastiaan were fantastic marking targets, Nick kicked 5 goals and Luke 3. Christian West was always dangerous with the ball in his hands and kicked 4 goals, including a checkside from the boundary Eddie Betts would have been proud of. Josh Kehagias kickstarted us with 2 telling first quarter goals and Zaine Cordy, a deserving best on ground medal winner also kicked 2 goals alternating between centre half forward and the midfield. Jed Evans and Nat Gravener put the icing on the cake with last quarter goals. Down back our reliable back six stood firm with Brayden Warren, Ned Holland and Nick Murphy positioning themselves

beautifully to often mark unopposed. We had drive all day off both wings from our speedsters Josh Prendergast and Zac Ramsey. Our midfield general Matt Caldow played his usual disciplined game and James Stirling was the Stirlo we rely on every week, giving 110% effort into every contest. But on the day to have such a comprehensive victory every boy contributed to the win, as was the case every week. The boys should be congratulated on how they represented themselves and their club all day long. Congratulations to Mohry and Charlie for going back to back. Two finer blokes to educate our boys on football you could not find, and our boys will be better footballers as they progress from being under their guidance. Finally thanks to Bernie Dynes for stepping into the runners role for the day. Apparently he enjoyed it so much he managed to miss the bus back and almost had to run back to Ocean Grove to begin the celebrations.
