Strong bond between OC Beach Patrol and Surf Club

(June 23, 2023) On the weekend of June 16 and 17, the Ocean City Surf Club held its annual Surf Fest/Team Challenge Contest.

Friday night’s activity was a party held at Barn 34 on 34th Street in Ocean City, where legends were inducted, scholarships awarded, and various awards presented. Food and drink was readily available and a sizable crowd was in attendance.

Saturday’s activity was held on the beach in front of the Castle in the Sand Hotel, between 35th and 37th streets. The event is known as the Surf Fest/Team Challenge Contest consisting of various teams of five surfers and an experienced panel of judges.

The emphasis is on fun with seriousness of competitive surfing taking a “backseat.” In a phrase, “a good time was had by all.”
