very year the FDOE recognizes the stateâs top students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. McGinley and Reese were honored at a ceremony that took place at Orlandoâs DoubleTree Hotel and that included STEM activities, college seminars and a recruiting fair attended by all the stateâs public universities. State Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran was on hand to recognize the students and deliver the awards. âEach Sunshine State Scholar has achieved significant academic accomplishments, and I am confident that they will continue to excel and grow into leaders who may one day be called on to help solve future challenges our nation might face,â Corcoran said. For the upcoming school year, McGinley will be a senior at Forest High School, while Reese will be a senior at Vanguard. Congratulations to Sarah and Reagan for their diligence in earning this honor and representing Marion County among the stateâs best and brightest!
