Kopano Bus Service and Madodi Bus Company award employees encourages good team spirit and that we must be seen as a family and not just a company,” Maponya said. The awards were made in six categories: The Driver Neatness category aims to encourage drivers to make sure that their buses are clean to the satisfactory level of passengers. “With this category we encourage them to be neat and not just be clean as they are the image of the company who have direct contact with our passengers.” The Bus Cleanliness category awards drivers who make sure that their buses are always clean to customer satisfaction. The Honesty and Discipline category encourages honest and disciplined employees “This is encouraged because the management will have fewer issues to worry about and focus on matters which will take the company to the next upper level. The assets in the drivers’ hands are worth so much that if they are not

disciplined, this can result on the downfall of the company.” The Work Dedication category, according to Maponya they wanted to applaud the cordial relationship between the drivers and supervisors. “The relationship between our drivers and supervisors is so good and they are dedicated in their daily duties, irrespective of harsh weather conditions, they will make it a point that passengers are conveyed to their destinations and arrive safely.” The Customer Care category rewarded drivers who make sure that the customers are always treated well. “Our passengers are very important to us and they should be treated like wise. We want to thank the drivers for ensuring that the customers come first,” Maponya said. She added that their drivers are encouraged to enter the Department of Roads and Transport’s Driver of the Year competition in order for them to get more exposure about the

industry and to enhance their driving skills. Maponya described the Chairperson’s Award as the one that goes to an employee who has done exceptionally well through the year. Herman Mangwale, Chairperson of Kopano Bus Service congratulated all the award winners and encouraged them to do even better. He further acknowledged the efforts of the management team in conjunction with Maeteko Management Support Services. He further said that the company still prides itself for maintaining its goals and objectives in line with its vision to become an effective and efficient transport service that is responsive to consumers’ social and environmental needs. He concluded that the success would not have been possible without strict adherence to the company’s three main pillars, passenger safety, cleanliness of buses and time consciousness.
