Oxford Academy Robotics is glad to have you back for our second addition of our 2022-2023 newsletter, The Quantum Leap! Hopefully, you had a restful and enjoyable holiday season are ready to jump back into the second semester! With the beginning of 2023, we are ready to jump into FRC on-season and finish off the FTC season strongly. In this edition, we will be going over some recent events like OA Robotics Servathon, as well as the latest FTC meets and FRC Kickoff. Continue to stay tuned for our monthly newsletters, and without further ado, feel free to see what we've been up to!
So far, our FTC Team has competed in Meet 0, 1, 2, and 3. The most recent, Meet 3, was held on January 21st, and although our team did not win any matches, we worked together well with our alliances and collaborated to get the points we needed across all matches to advance to the FTC Inter-League competition, where we will continue to improve and do our best.
FRC Kickoff marks the start of the 2022-2023 FRC season, where game rules and criteria for the competition are revealed. On January 7th, we held our Kickoff, and we appreciate all those who attended to help make this Kickoff a success! Members watched the live stream and game reveal, split into groups to go over the game manual and create potential strategies for this year's "Charge Up" challenge, all while bonding with the rest of the team.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Oxford Academy held it's annual Servathon on January 21. OA Robotics partnered with Oxford Academy ECO to hold an E-Waste Drive where we volunteered to collect E-Waste and help both our communities and environment.
On January 13th, Oxford's Annual Homecoming Basketball games were held vs 605 League competitor Artesia High School. Following an intense two quarters in the Boys Varsity game, OA Robotics made an appearance during the halftime show, and the crowd went wild! Our publicity bot, Encore, shot out T-Shirts to the crowd of people, hyping up everyone's energy for another awesome half of basketball.

Thank you for your endless support in the development of our teams this past year. Last year, our heads of Operations made it their goal to develop OA Robotics newsletters in an effort to spread the message of our team in an accessible, interactive way. Inspired by their motivation, it is now our goal to continue producing team newsletters as we work towards updating students, parents, and mentors alike regarding what both our FRC and FTC teams have accomplished, and what they continue to work on.
This year, we've faced major setbacks following the graduation of a lot of our more experienced upperclassmen. However, we've worked hard to ensure that we can become strong members of the OA Robotics Operations team and build a foundation and image for the team as a whole. With effort from the Operations Department, we've managed to accomplish a great variety of things, and we know that as the year progresses, we will continue to do so.
With our newsletter's second (now monthly) newsletters, we can observe how time is quickly flying by. We hope to keep you updated on our team's ongoing projects and latest news as we move through second semester. We appreciate all your support and enthusiasm towards robotics! We'll see you in February, Patriots!
Sincerely,
