Activity Centers and Amenities for the Active Adult
Oakmont has four major recreational centers where you will find an emphasis on wellness activities for the body and programs to engage the mind. You don’t have to leave our Community to find a full range of amenities. Groups within Oakmont offer classical concerts, art programs, continuing education and current events. We have a computer learning center, state-ofthe-art fitness center, art studio, group exercise studio, tennis courts and swimming pools along with an honorsystem lending library.

Berger Auditorium
Located at 6633 Oakmont Drive, this multi-purpose building provides facilities for large social, cultural and educational events along with smaller breakout meeting rooms. Major activities centered here are Movies at Oakmont, Life Long Learning, Annual Art Shows and the Oakmont Concert Series.
Central Activities Center (CAC)
The CAC is Oakmont’s newest building and is located at 310 White Oak Drive. Here are card, art and meeting rooms along with an extensive library of bound volumes and digital media. Here, too, is Oakmont’s computer learning center and fitness center. The facility also includes a catering kitchen, large patio for brown bag lunches or receptions. You need to use your electronic card key (available at the OVA Office) to enter the building.

The FITNESS CENTER is open daily from 5:00am to 9:00pm and features 40 pieces of exercise equipment, free weights, benches, locker rooms and saunas. Insurance requirements mean residents and their guests must be at least 18 and sign a waiver of liability in the OVA office when you get your electronic entry card key.
The OAKMONT LIBRARY, operated by resident volunteers, has more than 19,000 books, magazines, digital movies and music CDs. Open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, check-out is by the honor system. Residents are urged to return material they borrow as soon as possible for others to enjoy.
The COMPUTER LEARNING CENTER volunteers offer classes for MAC and PC users. Fees are currently $5 per session plus book and material charges. Course descriptions are available in the CAC Lobby and online at www.oakmontlearning.org.
The CARD ROOMS feature games of bridge, chess, canasta and dominoes.
Our ARTS and CRAFTS STUDIOS are available for painting, ceramics and quilting along with art seminars and live model classes. Just to the east of the CAC is the year around LAWN BOWLING GREEN where members play daily and on the west side is the CENTRAL POOL and SPA. Tucked away behind the pool are our GOLF PUTTING green, PETANQUE courts, and SHUFFLEBOARD.




East Recreation Center
This multilevel facility is located at 7902 Oakmont Drive. Here is where you listen to speakers, watch remarkable documentaries and participate in challenging discussion groups. A large meeting area with excellent audio and video equipment, catering kitchen and adjacent conference room are located on the upper level. It’s a great setting for banquets and a favorite location for private resident parties. Downstairs you will find a very well-equipped billboard/ snooker/card room. An outdoor lap pool, spa and locker rooms are also located on the lower level. Two tennis courts, six pickle ball courts, a picnic area and casting pond are located just west the building along with parking lots.
West Recreation Center
This attractive building was built to resemble the historic Hop Kiln that once stood on this site. It is located at 6470 Meadowridge Drive. At “the West” you can participate in exercise classes such as cardio fitness, balance and stretch, Pilates, tai chi, tap dancing, and yoga.
Downstairs features a large exercise studio and upstairs is a versatile space for meetings and activities that includes a small catering kitchen. Activities include table tennis, Wii bowling and Visual Aids Workshops. Outdoors there are four tennis courts, a swimming pool frequently used for water fitness classes, a bocce ball court, and a large picnic area.

Community Garden
Located on Stone Bridge Road, adjacent to Oak Creek RV and Self Storage, and across the street from the walking trail, the Oakmont Community Garden is used by residents to grow their own veggies and flowers.
Oakmont Village Website
The Oakmont website (www.oakmontvillage. com) provides useful information to residents and visitors alike, including real estate listings, lifestyle content and an active, searchable e-edition of the Oakmont News, the official publication of Oakmont Village Association that is mailed to homes twice monthly. The site also offers administrative notices, access to a weekly newsletter, a dynamic events calendar, community breaking news and more.

Oakmont contracts with the city of Santa Rosa for a unique, fixed route bus service five days a week. The following two pages illustrate the route and schedule. The medium-size bus pictures here are fully accessible for residents using walkers and wheelchairs. The bus will stop for boarding anywhere along its route – just wave to the driver. There is no fare box; just show your OVA identification card. The driver will also let you off anywhere along the route in Oakmont.
Activity Groups, Classes and Clubs
People, active volunteers, make Oakmont a vibrant, welcoming community. Whatever the interests, hobbies or avocation of residents, chances are great that there is a group of neighbors with the same passions. Today, Oakmont boasts over 150 of the most varied clubs anyone can imagine. And should a group not yet exist that fits your fancy, any resident can start a new activity at any time with board approval.
