Full Time 2 Years Welwyn Garden City

This Technical Qualification consists of a core section including health and safety, material science, and engineering mathematics. The subject specialism is Maintenance engineering technologies. After completing basic skills modules you will progress on to learning about advanced diagnostic techniques for multiple mechanical systems. You will work in the engineering workshops to gain the required hand and machining skills, whilst attending theory lessons conducted in a classroom. An industry-based work placement is required to run alongside your course, this must be equivalent to at least 45 days and will further reinforce your newly learned skills and o er a true insight into the engineering industry.

What do I need? You must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or more at grade 5 and above and must include English, maths, and Science.

What will I learn The core content consists of the following units; ● Electronics Engineering Technician ● Aerospace Engineering Technician ● Electrical Engineering Technician ● Mechanical Engineering Technician In addition to the core content of this T-level, you will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content: ● Production Technologies ● Manufacturing Technologies ● Processing Technologies ● Materials Technologies

This part time course is suitable for adult learners age 19+ who wish to pursue a professional career in the engineering industry. It covers a broad range of units covering mechanical, electrical and electronic disciplines enabling a firm understanding in the key engineering fields. You will study one extended day at college per week over two years.

What do I need? Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above including Maths (Higher Tier) and Science or a Level 2 qualification in Engineering at Merit. Applicants with other qualifications or without traditional qualifications are also encouraged to apply and will be interviewed.

This is a preparatory year to develop your knowledge and skills ready to progress to the first year of a University of Hertfordshire Engineering Degree. You will spend three days a week at college plus one day a week at the University of Hertfordshire.

What do I need? 48 UCAS points including 2 A Levels at minimum DD or BTEC Extended Diploma at PPP plus GCSE English and Science at Grade 4/C and Maths at Grade 3/D or above.
