WHAT IS ORIENTAL MEDICINE? Oriental medicine is the oldest system of medicine in the world. It restores the balance and health by treating diseases via its five major branches which include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, tuina, oriental nutrition and dietary therapy and tai chi and qi gong.Â

Oriental medical practitioners usually specialize in one or more healing modalities. More than 22,000 oriental medical practitioners are currently employed in US. The oriental medical therapists can work at clinics, doctors’ offices, nursing homes, hospitals, cruise ships, fitness centers and spas.
In order to start your career as an oriental medical practitioner or acupuncturist, you need to attend a recognized Oriental Medicine School in New York which provides (BPS/MS) Oriental Medicine Program. Upon completing the program, graduates receive a Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science degree in Health Science/Oriental Medicine. They are eligible to sit for the NCCAOM certification exams in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
