MAAT APOTHECARY SPICED HONEY

Infused honey has long been one of my favorite edible products, so I was quite excited to have a chance to try this Spiced Honey from Maat Apothecary.

The product is crafted with Cannabis, turmeric, ginger and cinnamon, and offers a lower viscosity at room temperature than your average honey - making it really easy to work with.

The ingredients packed into this honey translate to the palate as a sweet and spicy gingerbread. The turmeric takes a backseat flavor-wise, but you can feel good knowing it’s there with its powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The honey itself is edible on its own as a sweet spoonful, or can easily be added to tea, coffee or even drizzled over ice cream for a unique dessert. As the mellow effects settled in, a noticeable relaxation spread throughout my entire body.

Maat Apothecary is an equity owned Cannabis company producing small batch products out of Oakland, California. Owner and founder Alicia Holcombe is a Town native, an herbalist, Cannabis medicine maker and activist.

Holcombe is part of a multigenerational family of healers and has been crafting Earth derived medicines for over two decades.

INTERREX LABS PINK LEMONADE LIVE RESIN DIAMONDS

Interrex Labs is an equity owned Type 7 hydrocarbon processor based in Oakland, California. Specializing in live resin extracts, Interrex has recently been throwing down some exotic flavors such as this Pink Lemonade, Melonata, Slurricane and Runtz.

These diamonds were marinating in a pool of golden amber terpenes, giving off a multifaceted aroma with nuances of burnt sugar, citrus rind and pine. The size of the gems and slightly more viscous than usual consistency of the terpenes allowed me to easily manipulate a healthy dab onto my stainless fork tool, before dropping it into a clean quartz banger.

My dab revealed a medium bodied vapor with a dominant lemon lime soda flavor profile that had me stoned before I’d finished my exhale. The effects were immediate and quite pronounced, with the high experienced throughout my forehead, cheeks and temples. My mood shifted and my mind released worry, leaving me to go about my afternoon feeling balanced and positive.
