Greetings to my IFMSA-Jo family. My name is Hanin Lataifeh; a fifth year medical student at JUST University, and the Communication and Public Relations Support Division Director at IFMSA-Jo for the term 20/21, but you can call me CPRSDD for short!
First, let me talk about how I got to where I am today. It started on a random day in October 2016 where I was walking around my campus, when my eyes met a huge tent swarmed with students chatting and talking enthusiastically; and a large banner above them that read “JUST LC Promotional Campaign 16/17”. When I went inside, I got to learn about IFMSA and I was so amazed! I remember thinking to myself: “I never knew I could do all of these things whilst being a medical student?!”
This was the start of my five-year-and-counting journey of unforgettable memories and learning experiences. So, with hard work and dedication, I decided to work as the Publications Support Division Director at JUST LC for the term 19/20; as I was very interested being a part of the division that is fueled with creativity! After that, I wanted to take a step further and widen my scope of work by becoming the National CPRSDD for the term 20/21, and it’s been a wonderful journey ever since.
It brings me great joy being given the chance to continue the legendary work of the Communication and Public Relations Support Division. Here I am today, greeting you all as the Director of the magazine you have in your hands, smartphones, or laptops right now!
In February, our division started working on the magazine by discussing possible themes, and we collectively decided on 3 main themes for this edition:
Regarding the first theme ‘The Rise of Research-Driven Students’; as we all know, nowadays medical students are becoming as active as they can be. They chose to be part of the community that is on the frontline of new discoveries which will ultimately benefit humanity as a whole.
