To use the quick lining method, sew the wrong side of the facing on top of the right side of the lining.

The following directions describe sewing the lining using the quick lining method, but the sewing sequence for attaching the lining unit to the dress remains the same for all methods. Begin by cutting the lining the same as the dress. Press under Y4 in. on the lower edges of the front and back facings. Next, pin the wrong sides of the facings to the right sides of the lining. Edgestitch the lower edge of the facings to the lining, then machine-baste the other facing edges to the lining Y2 in. from the edges. Sew the dress front to the dress back at the shoulders and press seams open, then sew the front lining/facing unit to the back
