Firstly ----- Start as soon as you can. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, today’s decisions will determine your future position.

Imagine ----- Your savings as a bill to pay. We often try to save what we have left at the end of the month, intentional saving is a better option.

Negotiate ----- Your debts. Ignoring bills does not pay them, but if you accept them and discuss them with those you owe, there can be a solution. Try to pay through direct debit and manage your bills in a systematic way.

Accept ----- Responsibility. Ultimately your debts are your responsibility, take ownership of the problem, don’t put your head in the sand.

Never ----- Overspend. Learn to budget. The difference between being in the black and being in the red is £2. Either £1 in the red or £1 in the black.

Call ----- For help. Help is not far away, a burden bared is a burden shared. Pride comes before a fall. Get help sooner than later.

Invest ----- Time and energy. Opportunities are often there for those willing to invest time, energy and creativity. Make the most of every opportunity.

Amend ----- Any financially draining habits. Lifestyle is a good thing to check for draining resources. Some things in life can be adjusted to make life easier on a financial front.

Live ----- Within your means. Constantly be in touch with your income and expenditure. Make sure you manage your life according to your means.
