My story starts in an underserved community in South Dallas My community & school was at the center of life’s inequities However, like most children being raised in the 90’s, we had no clue we were underserved until we left home It wasn’t until I began debating in high school that I realized me and my counterparts didn’t have nearly as much as we thought we did. As a teenager, I immediately went into action; fundraising and meeting with local leaders to sponsor our debate team. I learned to do things in excellence at an early age! I wanted myself and my debate to look the part. Long story shorty, we looked the part and performed against children from the richest suburbs in Texas.
My foundation is what drives my mission in education equity. I want every child to have the same resources to develop to their full academic and social potential! It only made sense that I ditch my law career and become an educator. I wanted to be in the trenches, providing underserved students the best education. I understood that educators are essential to closing economic gaps! I’ve served in education over a decade in multiple leadership positions & I am still working to provide equity for black & brown students!

It use to be ok to change “just one life”. However, that’s no longer acceptable! My daily mission is inspire and change the trajectory of children life daily! This starts with me showing up for our kids daily and ends with me fundraising & sponsoring to ensure our melanin students go to and through college!
If I get one kid to college, I change the lives of many!
