The prefects were challenged to do a group activity by the deputy principal Mr Adams, and decided to run the food stall to raise funds for sports gear for the school.

Council Services over Christmas and New Year Libraries and Service Centres All library/service centres and the Council’s Rolleston Headquarters close at midday on Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24 December) and re-open with normal hours on Monday 6 January. Rubbish and Recycling Collections If your rubbish and recycling is normally picked up on a Wednesday your collection day will change over Christmas and New Year. Rubbish and recycling normally collected on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) will be collected on Saturday 28 December. Rubbish and recycling normally collected on New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1January) will be collected on Saturday 4 January.

Normal Wednesday collections resume on 8 January. All other collection days are unchanged, however the time rubbish is collected may vary over the holiday period so please ensure that your bags, wheelie bins or crates are out by 7.30am. Selwyn Aquatic Centre The centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. From Friday 27 December – Sunday 5 January the centre is open from 8am to 8pm. Normal opening hours resume on 6 January. Rolleston Community Centre and Lincoln Event Centre Both centres close at 12pm on Tuesday 24 December and will re-open on Monday 6 January. Lincoln Event Centre will be open 9am-5pm from Monday 6 January - Friday 10 January, and will be closed on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January. Normal opening hours resume on Monday 13 January. Pines Resource Recovery Park The Recovery Park will be closed on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) and New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1 January). The Park is open with normal hours on other days.
