Welcome

Goondoola Livestock is a family run operation owned by Paul and Sue Powe along with their daughters Nicole, Hannah and their families. Established in the early 1980s breeding solely Murray Grey cattle, Goondoola diversified into Red Angus in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since.

We are proud to be offering our first set of genetic packages, including semen and embryos from sires and donors that we have built our breeding program on or have selected to bring to the Australian market.

Thank you for taking interest in our operation and we hope you can find something that suits your needs.

The sale will be conducted through AuctionsPlus under the usual terms and conditions of stud stock sales. Refer to ALPA Livestock selling terms and conditions.

It will be a simultaneous auction, with the sale opening at 6pm on Monday May 4 with a countdown end to the sale commencing at 8pm on Friday May 8. A one minute countdown will occur with bid extensions. Bid extensions apply until there are no further bids on any lots.

All bids on genetic lots are per embryo or per straw. All bids are GST exclusive, with GST added to the purchase price after the sale.

Please register with AuctionsPlus prior to the sale to bid on lots, or talk to your local agent for further assistance with this.

Society Registrations

All donors and sires are registered with the Red Angus Society of Australia and/or the Angus Society of Australia. Please contact us for more information regarding this.

Note: Lot 5 embryos will likely result in black coated animals (sired by a black Angus bull).

Delivery And Transport

All embryos and semen are stored at Holbrook Breeders. All shipping and freight insurance is to be covered by the purchaser. We will endeavour to have releases completed on lots as soon as payment is received. Every year Goondoola continues to offer a 5% discount for junior members that purchase animals or genetic lots at various sales across the country.

We strongly believe in encouraging the next generation to become involved in the Red Angus breed and more widely the beef industry. By offering this discount to our industry’s youth, we hope we can provide an opportunity to support and inspire the upcoming breeders in their future endeavours.

Hannah is forever grateful for the junior career and the opportunities she has had, and because of this, if there are any other ways we can help at an event through supplying ballot animals or heifers for paraders, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Where to View Lots

All lots are listed on AuctionsPlus, and can be found via our website goondoolalivestock.com.au or on the Red Angus Society of Australia database.

Please feel free to contact us to organise a personal herd tour to view a number of our donors and their progeny, or alternatively contact our sale agent John Settree for more information.

We are also able to send through videos, extra photos and collected data where necessary to assist with your purchases. Specific guarantees on each embryo lot will depend on the number in each of the packages. Please refer to below:

On packages of four (4) embryos, when implanted by a qualified technician, we guarantee two (2) pregnancies at 60 days. On packages of three (3) embryos, when implanted by a qualified technician, we guarantee one (1) pregnancy at 60 days. In mixed packages of four (4) embryos, when implanted by a qualified technician, we guarantee two (2) pregnancies at 60 days. If no pregnancies are achieved, one embryo of similar genetics will be offered as replacement. Delivery and implant costs are not included and are not refundable. The guarantee for the “Pick of the Herd Flush” is stated in the lot description.

Embryo Lots

We understand the importance of strong, maternal lines of breeding in operations whether it be stud stock or commercial cattle, and we endeavour to consistently ensure we are striving for the best.

The embryo packages we have put together in this sale are from the donors we own here in Australia as well as in Canada.

They resemble what we like to see in females within our breeding herd; functionality, productivity and they are consistently breeding as good if not better than they are. We are consistently looking for new outcross bloodlines that suit our criteria, and a number of these can be found in the following lots.

All guarantees on embryo packages are stated in the sale information section at the front of the catalogue.
