Nashville State Community College Foundation
For the students. For the school. For the Community.
The Nashville State Community College Foundation
is a nonprofit organization established to help Nashville State Community College provide a quality education, remove financial barriers to graduation, and prepare students for educational and career success. That means ensuring that all students have the resources and support they need to succeed and graduate, creating community partnerships on their behalf, and ultimately, helping Middle Tennessee meet its most urgent workforce needs with highly qualified, highly skilled candidates.
What happens when you invest in community college students? You invest in our local economy. NSCC grads enter Middle Tennessee’s workforce with the specific skills and training to help businesses grow, as well as attract new ones to the area.
You level the playing field. When you help meet the unique and immediate needs of non-traditional students, you help put college graduation within reach for anyone with the desire to succeed, regardless of their economic status.
You impact quality of life in our community. A degree or technical certificate creates a ripple effect of increased earning potential, economic contribution, community involvement, and new opportunities for generations to come.
You make an immediate difference. Because NSCCF’s critical needs differ in scope from those of traditional higher education institutions, every dollar of support for our programs and students goes further, faster.
Nashville State Community College: Improving the way people
live, learn, and earn in Middle Tennessee.
Over the last fifty years, Nashville State has transformed from a small technical school into a seven-campus community college network serving a student population as diverse as the city itself. Thousands of students enroll every year in the College’s 80+ programs of professional study, seeking a high-quality, affordable education with a real-world focus. NSCC is uniquely positioned to meet students from all economic, professional and cultural backgrounds right where they are in life and position them for success after graduation.

One hundred percent of every gift directly impacts student success at NSCC. Impact Fund General funds allow Foundation staff to meet emerging and immediate needs as they arise.
Department and Program Needs Foundation support helps strengthen individual departments and enhance student learning. Equipping our students with the latest methods and enhanced technology ensures that they’re job-ready.
Scholarships Even with free tuition through Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect, we continue to provide vital financial support for students of all ages across a wide range of programs, especially in the fields of IT, STEM, healthcare and hospitality.
Beyond Financial Aid This unique initiative is designed to meet the urgent financial and resource needs that can easily derail a student’s path to graduation.
Getting to college isn’t the same as getting through college. That’s why Beyond Financial Aid is here. State-led programs like Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect cover tuition for students whose financial situation or life circumstances would otherwise put college out of reach. For a student with limited finances and competing life priorities, this incredible opportunity also creates new—sometimes critical—needs. The cost of books, supplies, transportation, childcare or even housing can become very real barriers to graduation. Our Beyond Financial Aid Fund provides immediate, short-term assistance to bridge resource gaps and keep students from dropping out of school in times of crisis.
Where do you turn when you can’t afford free tuition? We’re here to do whatever it takes to help our students succeed and graduate, regardless of their financial situation.

Equipping students to succeed. “Thanks to the equipment lending library, my photography students don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to train on the cameras and tools they’ll actually encounter in the real world. And as a teacher, I can set higher expectations for my students; every student has the same access to the equipment they need to produce professional-quality work.” Emily Naff, NSCC Photography instructor

“I was a student here at Nashville State before, but I didn’t have my own transportation or the funds to ride the bus all the time, so I missed a lot of class. Now [that I have a bus pass] I’m back on campus, and I can learn what I need to know to have a career and transfer to another school when I finish here.” RaQuecia Clack, Business Administration student
Real help, right now. “The Foundation replaced my textbooks that were lost in a fire at my apartment. Without Nashville State Foundation’s help, I wouldn’t have the necessary materials to learn efficiently in my classes. Thank you for all that you do.” Katelyn Allen, Paralegal Studies student
