As I write this month's letter, I am reminded of memories of coordinating efforts for the State Conference, trying to figure out how to schedule a phone conference call (of which I'm great at now), and wondering how much could be accomplished in a year. Even though there may have been some stressful moments, I can look back and honestly say I would do it all again. I have had a very dedicated board this year and it has been my privilege to work with each one of them. Many of you have renewed my passion for parks and recreation with your dedication and enthusiasm. I'm also thinking of the new members of the Executive Board, which
will soon be decided. I know that incoming President, Pandora Bahlman, is excited to lead this organization. She has some great ideas to share. I will be taking the position of Past President and will assist Pandora with anything she needs. I will also be there for whomever is elected as our President Elect in the upcoming election. I started my year reminding everyone the importance of not just being a member...but being an active member. There are so many ways to be active and to contribute to the society. You don't have to be on the board to help plan a luncheon or training, assist with State Conference, or even help with reminding members to renew their membership or refer new people to
join. We are always looking for people to help move NRPS forward to better our professionals. Finally, I wanted to share a quote from Dag Hammarskjold (19051961), a Swedish diplomat. He said, "For all that has been, thanks. For all that will be, yes." Take care, Jayne
