Event Planning & Management students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of what it takes to plan an event. They also will get hands-on experience by assisting in the planning and execution of several NRCA events.

Major Concepts Covered
Events don’t just happen. They require a lot of pre-event planning such as working with vendors, budget analysis, and design creativity. In this class, students will learn how to take an event all the way from the conception to completion. Students will receive hands-on experience by working behind the scenes on many of our school events. They will also help manage events as student event leaders throughout the school year. From planning sports tournaments to weddings, Event Planning and Management is a class that can teach valuable lessons that can be put into practice through real life application.
Insider Information
This class will require students with creativity, self-discipline, and the willingness to work with others. This class will be a mix of active participation/event preparation as well as notetaking, projects, etc. Students who engage in class and use their time well will have limited homework to take home. Students should have good time management skills, be able to work on a deadline, and be driven and desire to contribute regularly in class.
