Frequently Asked Questions How do I find a seminar? o Search your zip code on the RTBAV website. If you can’t find one, please contact refuse@nrahq.org. How do I become an instructor? o You can attend an Instructor Development Workshop (IDW ) or take the online course offered twice a month. Are there still women-only seminars? o Yes. If you cannot find one in your area, you are able to request it. Are firearms discussed in seminars? o No. There is a separate one page firearm supplement that may be handed out at seminars if a participant chooses that as a means of personal protection. Is this a self-defense course? o No. Self-defense and personal protection options are discussed in the seminar though to give the participant options of what works best for them. Is there free training? o Free training is available to active law enforcement officers. I’m already an instructor for (another) NRA program. Am I qualified to teach this? o No, you must be a certified RTBAV instructor. I’m a Training Counselor (TC). Can I instruct this course? o No. Only certified RTBAV instructors or Regional Counselors are eligible to instruct the course and instructor course.
