NRA-ILA ELECTION VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS The TIps of NRA’s gRAssRooTs ARRows
S
ince 1994, the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division has recruited and trained Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs) nationwide. EVCs serve in hundreds of congressional districts, helping to make NRA the nation’s premiere grassroots organization. EVCs act as liaisons between pro-gun candidates, NRA members, and gun owners in their districts. EVCs work to spearhead NRA-ILA’s volunteer activities to ensure that pro-freedom candidates have sufficient campaign volunteers, and are also responsible for mobilizing volunteers to advance NRA-ILA’s legislative agenda year-round. Many EVCs have strong personal relationships with their lawmakers at all levels of government, and are often consulted on firearm-related issues from many sources, including their lawmakers.

EVCs work very closely with NRA-ILA Headquarters staff, constantly exchanging ideas and information to ensure that the pro-Second Amendment communities are educated and actively working in defense of the Second Amendment EVCs are heavily promoted through NRA-ILA’s websites, mailings, newsletters, political alerts, publications, and also in the field. NRA-ILA staff provides EVCs with practical, hands-on training, both in the field and from NRA Headquarters, including an EVC-only newsletter and e-mail alerts.
