This qualification will produce music graduates who have a high level of musical performance, composition, listening, analytical and production skills in a range of contexts. Graduates will be capable of utilising music technology to good musical effect in terms of both software and hardware resources, whilst at the same time having an awareness of contextual issues in terms of musical cultures and music business and an ability to utilise contextual knowledge and performance skills in the musical community.
The programme will include lectures, practicals, studio workshop and tutorial sessions. You will have to complete presentations, written assignments and practical assessments, including live performances, and recordings and scores of arrangements and compositions.
Entry Requirements Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. Typical offer: 3 A Levels at Grade C or MMM profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and five GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).
Career Prospects A recognised progression route for this programme is the BA (Hons) Music or other music related degrees. Graduates have employment prospects in a diverse range of media companies as well as the music industry, for example: session musician, performer, studio engineer, music agency executive, sound designer, composer and arranger, musical director, music teacher, music therapist, radio broadcaster, music journalist, researcher, event manager, record label manager.
