Public Services The Uniformed Public Services Sector is made up of many professions that protect and serve the population around the world. From rescuing climbers as part of the Mountain Rescue team, being deployed in the army as a medic or attending a crash site as a paramedic, police officer or fireman, these highly trained professionals are ready for active service in any emergency. Many of the Public Services lecturers have been in active duty, using their expert knowledge, trips and activities to engage you and make you fully aware of the many career opportunities available.

Public Services students can enjoy the sector-leading Sports facilities at Llandarcy Academy of Sport which include an international sports hall, climbing wall, strength and conditioning room, 60m indoor track, indoor barn multisport facility, 4G pitch, and teaching rooms with up-to-the-minute digital technology. The students can develop their fitness skills alongside the sports students and prepare themselves both physically and mentally for their chosen careers.

Brecon Beacons College is situated in the heart of Brecon Beacons National Park, an incredible environment for student to engage in a wide range of public services activities
alongside their Public Services course. Educational visits and trips are run to utilise the natural beauty of the area, from leadership sessions to team building and outdoor education tasks. Visits to local emergency services are arranged to strengthen the knowledge of the learners and develop much needed skills in readiness for their future careers. Some modules of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services can be taught through the medium of the Welsh language and students will be able to complete their assessments bilingually were possible.
