2014 Primary Voter Guide The NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland PAC is dedicated to electing the strongest pro-choice candidates in the state of Maryland. Our analysis of the candidates is based on a combination of their responses to questionnaires, public statements, past records and personal interviews. Members of the 2014 PAC are all prochoice volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise. Candidates are listed by district number and include party affiliation. For the issue of choice, candidates are grouped in the following ways: Endorsed: These candidates have earned our endorsement because we believe they will be strong leaders in the fight for reproductive rights through their personal statements, past records and questionnaire responses. Pro-Choice: Many candidates are wholly supportive of issues important to the pro-choice community. These candidates have earned the label of “100% Pro-Choice.” Incumbents are listed in bold.
Voting in Maryland If a candidate does not appear in this guide, the candidate chose not to return our questionnaire within the required timeframe. Maryland’s primary election will be held on June 24, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As long as you are in line before 8 pm, you will be allowed to vote. Primary elections may be limited to registered members of the party. For information about who can vote in primaries in your area, call the local board of elections for your county or city. Early voting is available beginning the 2nd Thursday before the election and runs until the Thursday before the election. There is no early voting on Sunday. For the primary, early voting will run from June 12, 2014 to June 19, 2014. For the general election, early voting will run from October 23 to October 30, 2014.
