2022 INDIVIDUAL MINISTRIES

Sisters take on several personal ministries, whether they are working full time, part time, or retired. Below are the current ministries as of the summer of 2022.

Sr. Marlene Bakken – Meeting the unmet needs of the poor in Cedar Rapids, IA

Sr. Rosalee Burke —Prayer ministry at Newport House

Sr. Joy Connealy – Canonical treasurer, Transition to new ministry

Sr. Kathleen Cramer – Community and prayer ministry; Assistant to Nurse Coordinator

Sr. Irene Dvorak –Prayer and community ministry

Sr. Josita Hanus – Coordinator of the Notre Dame Prayer/Memorial Association

Sr. Ernestine Havlovic –Prayer and community ministry

Sr. Margaret Hickey – Transition to new ministry

Sr. Mary Hlas – Chaplain at the ARCH addictions program and scheduling priests for NDH Liturgies

Sr. Mary Jo Hrnchir – Prayer, community and outreach ministry

Sr. Cynthia Hruby – ELL and GED adult education through Catholic Charities and some Substitute teaching for Omaha Archdiocesan schools

Sr. Corona Humpal – Prayer and community ministry

Sr. Alma Janousek – Prayer ministry at Newport House

Sr. Janice Ludvik – Prayer and volunteer ministry

Sr. Theresa Maly – Transition to Omaha for a volunteer ministry with social justice concerns

Sr. Stephanie Matcha – Volunteer ministry – Siena Francis House, Princess Ann Group Home and other Metro area needs.

Sr. Mary Kay Meagher –Provincial Councilor

Sr. Mary Frances Michalec –Part-time pastoral minister at St. Ludmila in Cedar Rapids, IA

Sr. Marie Alice Ostry – Home companion for elderly through Seniors Helping Seniors Program; advocate for Safe Homes Keeping On program; visit ND Sisters at Newport House

Sr. Rita Ostry – Provincial President – Notre Dame Sisters

Sr. Joan Polak – Prayer and community ministry and liaison to Honduras

Sr. Patricia Posekany – Prayer and community ministry

Sr. Veronica Jo Posekany – Nurse Coordinator for ND Sisters

Sr. Margaret Proskovec – adjunct professor of art at UNL at Kearney and several volunteer projects at Resurrection Parish in Grand Island, NE

Sr. Joyce Ann Rezac – Volunteer ESL instructor, Loveland, CO

Sr. Anita Rolenc – Volunteer in the Notre Dame Archives, sacristan, and organist

Sr. Karen Rolenc – Prayer ministry at Newport House

Sr. Dorothy Rolf – Associate Codirector, spiritual direction and pastoral care to the elderly and sick

Sr. Carol Tlach – Senior Outreach Coordinator at St. Mary’s Parish, Walsenburg, CO
