Cullah(BornIanMcCulloughonApril27,1991inMilwaukee,WI)isamulti-disciplinaryartist, producer,songwriter,engineer,andentrepreneurwhohasbeenreleasinganopen-sourcealbumof musiceveryyear,since2006,onApril27th.
Hisperformancestylevariesininstrumentationandaccompaniment.Referredtoas“TheBeckof Milwaukee”,Cullahexploresavarietyofmusicalstyles Backedbydifferentensembles,Cullahmaybe foundplayingafolksetwithabanjoandguitaroranelectronicsetwithsamplersandsynths.No mattertheinstruments,Cullah’svoicecomesthroughstrongly.Hisperformanceisdynamicand captivatinginawaytoconnectwithhisaudiencethatisdeepandprimal,ashehasbeentaughtbyhis family,passedonthroughthegenerations.

CaulkeristheFounderoftheKoThiDanceCompany,Wisconsin’s oldestAfrican]Americanarts organization.In2022shehanded theartisticleadershipovertothe newArtisticDirectors–Sonya ThompsonandMusicalDirector–KumasiAllen.Ko-Thi,foundedin 1969,isdedicatedtothe preservationandexpressionof theperformingartsfrom theAfricanContinent,Caribbean andUnitedStates. Wisconsin’s culturaltreasures.
This55-yearoldnationaland internationaldancecompanyhas performedinJapan,Canadaand throughouttheUnitedtates, includingNewYork’sLincoln Center‘OutofDoors’summer concertseries,multiple appearancesatBrooklyn Academy’s‘DanceAfrica’series andtheRaviniaFestivalin Illinois.
