CULTURAL ASSET LISTINGS
The North Shore Culture Compass is ever evolving and updated with new features, listings, and events added on an ongoing basis.

We use a permissions-based approach to adding cultural assets as we invite organizations, businesses, and other groups to list themselves. This is important to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information, while creating an awareness, sense of inclusion, and ownership of the tool. The map does not feature individual artists unless
they operate in a public space or studio that is open and accessible to the public with regular operating hours.
FIRST NATIONS CATEGORY
The First Nations category on the North Shore Culture Compass has elements similar to other categories but also has unique characteristics including place names with audio phonetic pronunciation, and a slider tool to remove settler elements on
the land.
Also unique to this category are the animal paw prints. Clicking on the prints reveals animals, birds, sea creatures, and supernatural beings with their First Nations’ name, represented by artistic renderings created by local Tsleil-Waututh artist, Olivia George.
