The Concept

SUGAR Zine (also referred to as SUGAR) is an alternative platform created for empowerment, collaboration and unrestricted creativity. SUGAR is a print and digital publication released quarterly alongside a visually based Instagram and landing page. The objective of the platform is to act as a guiding voice for Gen Z activists as they navigate themselves though the modern feminist movement. The targeted demographic is 16–21-year-olds (although SUGAR is accessible to everyone) of all races, genders and sexualities as the ultimate objective is to act as an older sibling. SUGAR reflects generational attitudes and diverse identities while educating and sharing experiences of feminism and sexism within contemporary society. SUGAR will offer a sense of belonging as well as carrying SUGAR’s ethos and values of diversity, equality and sustainability throughout and allowing space for innovation and self-discovery.
