TOP PRODUCER OF FULBRIGHT STUDENTS —US DEPT OF STATE
I am currently interning as the volunteer coordinator with GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago, the only nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers. I mainly work with arranging volunteers for programs, tutoring, and events. I am really passionate about working with individuals who live with Down syndrome and other mental, physical, or emotional challenges. GiGi’s has been an awesome outlet for me to learn through as I work toward a career in this area.
INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
YOUR COLLEGE As Chicago’s city-centered Christian university, we strive to create a campus where all students can flourish. North Park sponsors dozens of academic, social, and cultural clubs, as well as varsity sports. At the heart of it all, we are a Christian university, and we strive to nurture the faith lives of all our students through weekly chapel services, CRUX—North Park’s First-Year, Residential Discipleship Program—and faculty who bear witness through teaching.
The North Park University Vikings represent North Park in intercollegiate NCAA Division III competition. Whether playing at home or away, in the fall or spring, our student-athletes represent the University’s commitment to preparing students for lives of significance and service.

FOUNDED IN 1851 Old Main
The first building on campus was completed in 1894. Its cupola became a landmark for pilots to locate Orchard Field (now O’Hare International Airport). The cupola was the tallest point on the city’s north side.
UNDERGRADUATES I always wanted to live in a more progressive part of America. So for me, that ended up being Chicago. The biggest difference that I’ve noticed here is that North Park does seem to be more open, inclusive, and conscious of the way that it treats people who aren’t part of the majority.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS SERVED BY STUDENT VOLUNTEERS ANNUALLY
Street Min is a relational ministry that seeks to form bonds between North Park students and the homeless community in Lower Wacker Drive through food. So we bring a meal, and we talk with them...It’s a good break from going out on Friday night. If you are a follower of Christ, it’s a good way to see the image of God in someone else other than students. It’s important to know that we’re all created in God’s image.
