LAUNCHES WITH FREE SCREENING
The 26th Leeds International Film Festival, which runs from 1st – 18th November, launches at Leeds Town Hall on Friday 5th October with a free screening of ‘Sound of Noise’, a musical crime comedy from Sweden. In it Police Officer Warnebring, who suffers from a hatred of all music, is thrown into chaos when he is assigned to his first sonic crime spree. A band of outlaw musicians are causing havoc with shock guerrilla gig tactics using anything in their path as instruments. After failing to prevent their hospital invasion and hip-hop bank heist, Warnebring is determined to silence the band’s biggest musical assault using the entire city as their orchestra, in the name of anarchy and freedom. A special preview of the Festival’s programme will also be presented, with trailers from some of the line-up’s highlights.
