It was a bounce back season for the Bronco Football team in 2019. After a brutal schedule and some injuries in 2018, Northgate Football worked hard in the off season and put together a winning overall season with a record of 6 - 4. They also had a winning league record of 3 - 2. Led by Senior Captains Jackson Malakoff, Eric Prough, Nathan Wu and Max Berrien, the Broncos generated multiple blowout wins including strong road victories at Hercules, Hugg High in Reno, and Ygnacio Valley. Dominic Balastieri and Cooper Champion lead the powerful offensive and defensive lines with excellent year long efforts from Josh Moorhouse, Isaac Owen and Tyler Johnson among others. Jonathan Campbell was a punishing runner on offense with Mikey Mainer and Spencer Hagerstrand serving as very reliable receivers for Malakoff. The defense was lead by Prough and saw lock-down pass coverage from Shane Kaiper as well as strong linebacker work from Dennis Bayasgalan and Andrew Daigle. Unfortunately with the North Coast Championship format going back to 8 team brackets for each division, the Broncos fell just short of making the playoffs for Division 3.

Nonetheless the season was a massive success and showed that Bronco Football is back to its’ winning ways. The future is bright for the football team as they return a large group of battle tested Juniors who will undoubtedly be the Senior leaders through the off season program and into the 2020 campaign. Look for another strong team to take the field next year!”
