In Residence A new scheme to support theatre-makers to take the next step with their new show. We want to help as many artists and theatre companies as we can to create new shows in the North East so that they can present it to audiences in our region and beyond. We offer rehearsal space and our professional expertise and resources in whatever is needed from lighting to fundraising. Most importantly, they want to start a conversation with you. Keep an eye on our website to find out how they are getting on, or opportunities to help them shape and develop their work. This Spring we are supporting: THEATRE HULLABALLOO: Based in Darlington, Theatre Hullaballoo specialise in theatre for children and we will be working with them to create shows for our youngest audiences. PARKING There is no public parking on Newcastle University campus. The nearest car park is on Claremont Road (near the main entrance to Exhibition Park) or the Civic Centre car park after 6pm (entrance via Sandyford Road). Council-owned city centre car parks are now free after 5pm.

Many of the shows at Northern Stage are brand new productions being created as we put this brochure together. This can sometimes mean we don’t know the running time before the brochure is printed. Where possible we have included or estimated how long it is so you can plan your evening better.

Tickets can be exchanged at least 2 hours before a performance but can only be swapped for a different performance of the same show.
We offer tickets for £9.50 in Stage 1 and £6.50 in Stage 2 for schools and youth groups (groups of under 16s) attending in parties of 10+, and every 11th ticket is free. MULTIBUY also applies to groups for Stage 1 shows. See your first show for £9.50, your second for £8.50, and your third or more for £7.50 per ticket, when bookings are made within the same academic year.
GROUPS We have the best group deals of any theatre in town. We can organise catering, hospitality, theatre tours or just drinks and ice creams at the interval.
