Mission to Make an Impact

Most of the good things in the world don’t magically happen by themselves.

Behind most of the progress in the world is the result of people having a vision and then applying their willingness and drive to make it all happen.

Maribel Saldivar, MBA is a prime example of that truth.

As Broker/Owner of Universal Realty Texas, Maribel uses each day to carry out her mission to make an impact in the lives of those around her.

Thriving in a New Place Maribel is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico and moved to Texas with her family when she was five years old.

“When we moved to Texas, my parents were in their mid-40s. They didn’t know the language, but they took a leap of faith and trusted a real estate agent who was honest with them,” Maribel explains.

“That’s one of my whys to help people the way my parents were helped. I like to serve the Latino and Hispanic portion of the market. I want to be someone who helps them in the same way my parents were helped. That’s one of my missions in life.”

Pursuing Her Vision of the Future

As Maribel came of age, she grew up in Fort Worth, and then went on to earn her undergrad degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. Later, she earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Dallas.

At the time, Maribel saw herself going into corporate America.

“I never saw myself as an entrepreneur. So after graduation, I worked with Nokia,” she recalls. “I loved the people, company, and what I did. I was traveling a lot. However, when my daughter was born, I quickly realized that travel wasn’t an option. So, I looked for something flexible.”

A New Opportunity

Maribel had a friend in real estate who was looking for someone who spoke Spanish. She earned her license in 2001, and she tested the waters, doing real estate parttime for a year.

“I wanted to learn what it was and see if I liked it. After the first year, I realized I enjoyed it and I got to the point where I made that transition,” Maribel says. “I worked for RE/MAX and then got my Broker’s license and established my brokerage in 2004.”

Variety and Commitment

One of the parts of Maribel’s work each day that is the most fulfilling to her is variety.

“That’s one of the best parts of it for me … you never have the same day twice,” she says. “There are always new challenges, different client needs, and markets. You have to think outside the box and be creative.”

Numbers Reflecting Results

The results of Maribel’s efforts have been remarkable. In fact, in 2022, she recorded 78 transactions.

She is a leading part of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). She ranks number one in Fort Worth, number 25 in Texas, and number 114 nationwide among Hispanic REALTORS®.

Family and Fun

Maribel finds fulfillment in life through her family. She treasures time with her 23-year-old daughter, Andrea.

In her free time, Maribel looks forward to time with her puppy, Biscuit. She also enjoys exercising, meditation, and eating vegetarian. Other favorites include traveling, Latin dancing, and staying very active.

“In general, my approach to life is that I try to align my activities each day to what gives me the greatest joy,” she says with a smile.

Revealing Potential

It’s clear when you talk with Maribel that she has a special level of resilience … overcoming challenges to tap into her potential. It’s a characteristic that she applies in the lives of those she works with.

“My market focus is mainly first-time homebuyers. I have a lot of buyers who come to me who have been declined or who had a bad experience. They come to me, and I tell them that I won’t tell you no,” Maribel explains.

“I may say that right now at this moment you may need to work on a few things. Everyone who walks through our door will be helped in the exact same way. We’ve helped so many people in situations where they never thought they would be a homeowner.”

As Maribel looks to the future, she is proud to move forward and help others with her team of seven.

“We build a strong level of trust with our clients,” she says with a smile. “They know that we are here to help them achieve their goals.”

Congratulations to Maribel Saldivar for the difference she helps to make in the world around her … each day serving the best interests of her clients, team members, and community … with her mission to make a positive impact.
