By Dr. Karen Hill-Scott and Gary L. Harbour Oxnard, CA -- On Saturday, February 11, the Oxnard Yellow Jackets freshman and sophomore teams gathered at Tomas Café. Mistress of Ceremonies, Dr. Karen Hill-Scott, serves as team mother along with Mrs. Thompson for the freshman team. Tiffany Bumpus serves as
team mother for the sophomore team. Dr. Hill-Scott described the gathering as, “…a team bonding event where the freshman and sophomore players, their parents, and coaching staff can come together in unity and love to encourage each other. Many hands make light work. Many of the parents work and may need someone to provide trans-
portation for the players. Some of the players benefit from positive male role models. Team cohesiveness and cooperation by the coaches and parents is essential for these great teams to continue doing well.
