MEHR MOOR! More moor! TV-Feature HD, 30 min, Deutschland 2016
Ein trockenes, stellenweise totes Moor steht unter Naturschutz. So ist es beim Großen Moor bei Gifhorn. Die Landschaftspfleger René Hertwig und André Deter haben ein Jahr lang Zeit, das Kerngebiet des ausgetrockneten Moores, 300 Hektar Fläche, wieder zu vernässen. Eine unglaubliche Herausforderung! Die beiden Männer müssen Tausende Bäume ausreißen, den Wasserlauf eines Baches verändern und ins Moor umleiten, Wollgras anpflanzen und vieles mehr. Eine harte Arbeit, die nicht nur körperlich anstrengend ist, sondern auch wenig Wertschätzung bekommt. Nur mit viel Enthusiasmus kann ihr Engagement ans Ziel führen.
A dried-up and partly dead moor is designated as a nature conservation area. This is the situation in the case of the Large Moor near Gifhorn. The task of the landscape conservationists René Hertwig and André Deter is to re-wet the 300 hectare core area of the dried-up moor within a year. An unbelievable challenge! The two men must uproot thousands of trees, alter the watercourse of a brook and divert it into the moor, plant cotton grass, and much more besides. A heavy workload which is not only physically strenuous but also doesn’t receive the appreciation it deserves. Their efforts can only lead to their aim with a great deal of enthusiasm.
Die Dokumentation begleitet die Naturschützer ein Jahr lang und verfolgt, ob sie es tatsächlich schaffen, das Große Moor bei Gifhorn wieder zu vernässen.
The documentary accompanies the nature conservationists over a full year and keeps a track on whether they actually manage to re-wet the Large Moor near Gifhorn.
