LEPHALALE Chefs academy does it again MUNICIPALITY PUBLIC NOTICE
EXTENSION OF TIME FOR THE INSPECTION OF GENERAL VALUATION ROLL AND THE LODGING OF OBJECTIONS
Last Sunday students from The Petit Pois Chefs Academy in Mokopane took part in the annual Kiwi Festival`s Cooking Competition. Criteria for the entering teams was that they needed to be first-year trainees or amateurs. A mystery basket was given to prepare and cook a main course using Kiwi fruit as
the core ingredient and a combination of beef and chicken, or chicken and pork, or pork and beef. Participants also had to create a dessert with kiwi fruit being the core ingredient. Lizanne Lourens, Rose Koopedi, Vicky Faulds and Chantelle Lourens from Petit Pois took top honours and brought home yet another cooking trophy.
Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49 (1)(a)(i) read together with section 78(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004 (Act No. 6 of 2004), hereinafter referred to as the “Act”, that the General Valuation roll for the financial years 01 July 2013 to 30 June 2017 is open for public inspection at the offices of the Municipality, Civic Centre, Cnr Joe Slovo and Douwater road , Lephalale , during office hours 07:30 to 16:00 from 18 March 2013 to 30 April 2013. In addition the General Valuation Roll can be viewed on the Municipal website: www.lephalale. com. The date of 30 April 2013 has been extended till 31 May 2013. An invitation is hereby made in terms of section 49(1)(a)(ii) read together with section 78(2) of the Act that any owner of property or other person who so desires may lodge an objection with the municipal manager in respect of any matter reflected in, or omitted from, the General Valuation Roll within the abovementioned period. Attention is specifically drawn to the fact that in terms of section 50(2) of the Act an objection must be in relation to a specific individual property and not against the valuation roll as such. The form for lodging of an objection is obtainable at the following address: Budget and Treasury department, Civic centre, Cnr Joe Slovo and Douwater road, Lephalale. LEPHALALE SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK REVIEW PROCESS: The Lephalale Municipality has finalised the reviewing of its Spatial Development Framework in order to spatially enhance the implementation of the Integrated Development Plan in terms of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000); and in compliance with the provisions of the Municipal Planning and Performance Regulations, 2001 read together with the Land use Management Bill (LUMB) 2012 as core component of the municipal IDP’s review-cycle. The Spatial Development Framework document is now available at the office of the Municipal Manager. LEPHALALE MUNICIPALITY LEPHALALE DEVELOPMENT FORUM TEMPORARY POSITIONS Lephalale is one of the fastest growing towns in Limpopo due to the presence of natural coal reserves, huge industrial expansion projects initiated by mainly coal mining processing and electricity generation. The purpose of the Lephalale Development Forum (LDF) is to prioritize, drive and facilitate the delivery of an integrated socio-economic development approach in the greater Lephalale area, and applicants will join the team to deliver on its mandate. Dynamic persons who wish to become part of the LDF team, are hereby invited to apply for the following challenging positions: 1. POSITION 1x Lephalale Development Forum Co-ordinator (12 months contract with LDF) Commencing salary: Market related, based on experience Requirements: The applicant needs to have a minimum of a bachelor’s level graduate qualification and a minimum of ten years work experience, of which part was in a managerial role. A post graduate business or managerial qualification will be an advantage. KPA’s Inter alia: This person will be responsible for the overall co-ordination and management of the LDF within the mandate and terms of reference. The person will manage the LDF team and will be responsible for stakeholder relationship management and overall performance of the LDF. 2. POSITION: 1x Lephalale Development Forum Communication and Administration officer (12 months contract with LDF) Commencing salary: Market related, based on experience Requirements: Applicants need to have a minimum of a diploma level tertiary qualification in media, human resources or communication, and minimum work experience of five years in the area of administration, communication, PR and stakeholder relationship management. KPA’s Inter alia: This team member will be responsible for providing administrative support to the LDF, as well as undertaking the development, planning and delivery of the LDF’s internal and external communication strategy.
