Chopping Board We use so many different kinds of products for different uses in the Indian kitchen. Still we never have a hassle free time in there.There is always something that creates the mess. While doing my research in the Indian kitchen, one of the problems I observed was ofwashing vegetables after cutting.
MOCK UP 1 -Shape of the board was not very convenient. -The doors caused the mesh below to come in between. -The mesh underneath causes an imbalance making it difficult to chop. -Less user friendly
MOCK UP 2 -Shape of the board is more compact and convenient. - The shape makes it easy to store in the kitchen. -The rotating mechanism does not interfer with the mesh beneath it. -Mesh does not affect the chopping process. -More user friendly.
FINAL CONCEPT A rotating chopping board with a mesh attached beneath it.This helps the user slide the vegetables into it making it easier to wash them.
DESIGN DETAILS The Chopping board is made out of Bamboo with a mesh attached below. A screw is used to attache both tha parts and give it the rotatory motion.

Tea Packaging

While packaging tea there are different product ranges that had to be looked at. There was tea bags, tea leaves in small quantities and tea leaves in larger quantities. For the tea bags and tea leaves in smaller quantities we decided to go with more of a premium look. We created small and colourful open boxes for the bags and semi circle boxes fr the leaves. Both the designs were space effective and and created an impact on users when kept on the shelf. The name of the brand was ‘7 am’ which works completely for tea as that is the most common time for people to consume it. For a more premium look, the logo and the design was laser cut on the boxes which made them look more classy.
For tea leaves in larger quantities, we decided to go with a more earthy look. We took inspiration from the baskets used to pick tea leaves and decided to transform that itno the package. This would give the brand a very natural feel. The ouside is designed in cane to replicate the basket and the leaves are intacted in a jute bag inside.

WORKING Pull back and froth

To the churn the butter, the handle is pulled back and froth which rotates the churner clockwise and anti-clockwise separating the butter from the butter milk

Pour the mixture into the sieve After the butter is churned it is poured into the sieve which separates the butter from the buttermilk. The buttermilk is collected in the outer layer which can be thrown or stored.

Why have depressions on the jar?
The depression in the outer jar helps in the churning the butter better. The circular flow while churning is disturbed by the extrusions inside pushing the mixture back into the centre while prevent it from sticking on the side walls. The depression on the outsides act as a grip to hold the jar while churning.

TACT-TILES While doing my research into the world of children with visual impairment, I realized that most of their games and activities arey done sitting and dont involve a lot of physical activity.
DESIGN BACKGROUND Tact-Tiles is a game inspired from the tradional game hopscotch which helps children with visual impairment get physically active. Helps in the development of the child's motor skills, body balance and orientation. It also creats a sense of confidence in the child while moving around and overcomes their fear of moving freely. Since it can be played by even sighetd kids it also helps them mingle with sighted kids confidently.
DESIGN DETAIL All the ten tiles are made from EVA foam.The textures on top are created with cloth and hence the entire tile is easy to clean, soft and safe for kids. All the tiles are detachable and can be attached anyhow to create different patterns everytime.
