It was great seeing everyone at the Ida County cattleman’s banquet in Holstein. Super crowd and an outstanding prime rib meal served. It is great how many volunteers we have that put in the time and effort to serve the interests of our fellow cattleman. I spent several years working with the membership of ICA and it is great watching that membership grow back to over 10,000 members.

Don’t forget this coming weekend we’ll be in Ute celebrating with the Monona County cattlemen. Like I’ve always said we have doers or we have complainers. Our cattlemen & cattlewomen are definitely the DOERS!!!

FEEDER CATTLE, FRI., JAN 10TH: Despite cruddy weather conditions with ice all over the area, in addition to a crop report that shot corn up over 20 cents, Friday’s Western Iowa Precondition auction was outstanding. Dang did we have quality cattle in town. USDA called light strs $2 higher, heavy strs $2 lower and the hfrs were called significantly higher. Thanks again to the preconditioning board.
