ELECTRICITY
We need to take care of our planet. After all, we don’t have an extra one lying around! Today, we burn enormous quantities of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas to make electricity. Burning these fossil fuels— especially coal—creates pollution. They are also resources that are not renewable. We will eventually run out of fossil fuels and we can’t make more of them. That’s why scientists and engineers are working to find new ways of generating electricity that are Earth-friendly. They are also working to improve existing ways.
