Suffering in silence does not make us stronger. It is through the power of conversation that we find our true strength.

B

efore COVID mandates so many of us already wore a mask and our own pain kept us isolated and socially distant. And now, in a world where our social skills thrive off of Wi-Fi or 4g connectivity more of us are socially connected while at the same time disconnected. Socially engaging in real conversation has become a rarity while Mental Health issues are a reality that is becoming more and more prevalent every day.

The myth that suffering in silence makes us stronger still exists, but do we ever actually feel stronger? 10 | Noire Women’s Wellness

No, most times we feel worse but are inclined to say we are fine. You know – the lie we first tell ourselves then say out loud to hide the fact that we are dying on the inside. The truth is it takes a strong person, a brave person to say that they are not okay. Have you ever read or heard words of struggle that grazed your pain? And as you continued to listen or read along you realized that this was your story narrated by someone else. That is the power of conversation. When we share our stories, our voices align with those whose pains and struggles are familiar. And instantly the I that feels all alone becomes the “we that are all alone, together.”

THE STRONG WOMAN, THE HEALER, THE HERO! BUT WHO SAVES THE HERO? YOU, THAT’S WHO! YOUR VOICE, YOUR WORDS, YOUR STORY. Conversation is the key to cultivating oneness. It can create ripple effects so profound July/August 2022
