March 2012 Dear Friends of PCFCD

Plymouth Centre for Faiths & Cultural Diversity

Sadly there has been no PCFCD newsletter recently because of a number of issues. Some of you will be aware that we have had a heating crisis at Watts Road during the winter months, making it impossible to use the building for our usual range of events. A few groups have continued to meet but these have had to be kept to a minimum, partly because of the huge expense of heating even small parts of the building and also because some areas have proved impossible to heat at all.

There is also an on-going concern about how we continue to fund the circulation of a newsletter and Watts On and we are hoping to hear your views about that in the near future. In the meantime, Bev has been exploring other possible venues, with the intention of making our events more inclusive and accessible. And so, we are thrilled to announce that we will be starting regular meetings at Plymouth University’s Cultural Café in the Reservoir Café, (behind the Sherwell Centre). These will be held from 7pm on 1st & 3rd Wednesday’s in May and June. (2nd & 16th May and 6th & 20th June). The 1st Wednesday’s will be hosted by the storytelling group. Everyone welcome – prospective storytellers and audience.

For Climate Week 2012 Wednesday, 14th March. 7.30pm An Evening of Reflection, Storytelling and Prayers dedicated to themes connected with nature and the environment. Hosted by the Plymouth Bahá'í Community If you are concerned about the effects of climate change you will want to join us for this special evening.
