CHAMBER CONNECTION | AUGUST 2014

ambassador spotlight Mark Tulman

From the Chairman

Some say time flies when you are having fun. It is truly amazing how fast this year has progressed. It seemed like yesterday when I nervously introduced myself to a number of new faces at our monthly Chamber Ambassador meeting. Before long, I will be handing the Chairman baton to Steve Stegmier of ActionCoach. With Steve’s tremendous enthusiasm, I know that he will carry it with great pride and leadership. I want to go on record thanking all of the 2014 Ambassadors. I have witnessed your incredible dedication and support for each other. More importantly, I have been inspired by your unwavering commitment to The Chamber, its mission, goals, and objectives. I have always said that the most dedicated group of chamber members is our ambassadors. Together, we have shared dreams, opportunities, and experiences that have strengthened friendships within the ambassador program. Our active roles have been truly

appreciated by chamber staff and other members of The Chamber. At chamber events, I have seen ambassadors stepping out of their “comfort zones” and actively engaging others, taking on roles of leadership. As we usher out the summer season and welcome the fall, we will continue to collaborate making our chamber stronger, and to strengthen our business community as a whole. The Chamber continues to provide resources and tools that actively communicate the power of our Ambassador program. Together, we will continue to send a loud and powerful message of how we represent the Chamber. It has been and continues to be a privilege serving as the Ambassador Chairman for 2014. I am honored to serve with so many wonderful and dedicated ambassadors. As we continue to support The Chamber, I believe the best has yet to come. Now, let’s have fun!

Mark Tulman is a business development representative for the Nevada Association of Employers. He is the 2014 Chairman of The Chamber’s Ambassador Program.

chamber 101 The Chamber welcomed several new members at the June Chamber 101 New Member Orientation. Thank you to Fat Burger and Noble Pie Parlor for providing lunch for all the guests. Alex Fuller from Office Depot presented The Chamber office supply savings program; Tray Abney, Director Government Relations for The Chamber, spoke on the Margin Tax Initiative and Len Stevens, Executive Director of The Chamber, gave the welcome and overview of benefits.

The Chamber Offers Member-to-Member Discount Program The Chamber, in an effort to help promote, support and encourage members to do business with fellow members, is proud to offer a Member-to-Member Discount Program. This program was created to provide current Chamber members with another service to add value to their Chamber membership. The Member-toMember discount program offers a unique combination of promoting local member to member buying, boosting sales for our members, and increasing member visibility. Chamber member businesses and their employees are encouraged to patronize fellow members. As part of the Member-to-Member Program, Chamber members will have exclusive access to discounts that are only available to Chamber members. Whether looking for discounts to your favorite restaurant, need service to your car or just looking to shape up for the summer, there is something for everyone with new discounts being added every month. Members simply log into their Chamber account and print off the discounts from the various program participants. Choose from over 45 different discounts and offers from fellow members.
