Preseident's Report

What a convention this one was ! All of our club events went off smoothly, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I was gratified to win BOB, and to have the highest sale animal in the Golden Fleece Auction. This is definitely a year I won’t forget. Congratulations to Amber Henderson on her BOS win with her broken buck, and to all of the winners in Groups—especially to Lori Robasciotti who had five Group/Opposite Group winners! Way to go, Lori! And of course, huge congratulations to Rose Marie (Bunnie) Turley on getting Orange woolies passed! Oranges are now showable in the AOV group. Also, showable now are chocolates and lilacs in pointed white, tort, and otters, which were voted in under the ARBA standards committee’s new vote in process for specific color groups. I want to thank everyone who attended Convention this year for your help. I think every single person with a Jersey Wooly stepped in at some point to help with all of the club-related tasks. Thank you to Amber, for orchestrating the booth decorations and turning out a lovely booth. Thank you to also to Michaeline McConnell and Lori Robasciotti, and all of D2 for putting together lovely welcome bags for the exhibitors. A huge thank you to Julie Aversa for making buttons for each of the attendees, and for taking on many organizing tasks at Convention. Thank you so much to all of our show clerks and ramrods! And of course, to all of you for running rabbits to and from the tables. None of this happens without you! Thank you to Michelle Landis for being our GFA solicitor and organizer, and to Brenda Reilly for being our very capable auctioneer. A special thank you to Dalton Robertson for ordering and bringing pizza for everyone before the Auction. There are so many more people to thank, and I hope that each of you know how very appreciated you are! So many people came home from Convention with various illnesses. Covid, the Flu and RSV were all going around. I came home with Covid, recovered from that, and then as a parting gift, Covid gave me myocarditis, which is caused by viruses attacking the heart muscle. I had a small heart attack, and am on strict rest for a 3–6-month time period to allow the heart to recover. I would never have believed how much a thing like this can sap your energy! Though I’m gaining stamina, I know it will be some time before I’m back to top form. In the meantime, I appreciate all of you who take on extra tasks to help out. In club business before Convention, the Board voted to induct Angel Lesage into the Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Angel, on this well-deserved honor! Angel was on the board in several capacities in the last 15 years. (Continued on page 19)
