2. Course Description
This course provides an application of the psychological principles to enhance quality of life and develop a stable social framework and personal environments. Specific emphasis will be given on the topics about interpersonal skills and group dynamics, perception of the social world, senior-subordinate relations, techniques for supervising management, processes of social influence and group behavior, attitudes, mental-health adjustment and personal activities. It also includes survey of the various settings and professions which require the use and application of psychology and psychological principles. 3. Course Rational
Psychology such as this course is broad in scope. Hence, this psychology subject will only focus on certain issues in social psychology and industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology. This course will introduce students to the history of psychology and current paradigms and theories in the first week. The main topics of this subject will cover various issues in motivational psychology, social psychology with special focus on “self”, social beliefs, behavior and attitude, conformity and obedience, and persuasion. The later part of the semester will cover topics about industrial and organizational psychology with special focus on employee motivation, employee-employer relationships, organizational culture, and deviancy in the workplace. Weekly classes will be done mainly with class discussions and student-base workshop presentations. The handouts and the material presented in class will serve as the primary sources of the lessons to be covered. The performance of each student will be assessed using six criteria. They are: (1) Discussions, (2) Homework, (3) workshops, (4) Quizzes, (5) Midterm Examination, and (6) Final Examination. that are intended for students to practice and apply the knowledge acquired in the lessons, while the tests are required by the college to serve as basis for learning. There are ten workshops throughout the semester. Each is meant to put students’ learning into practice. Workshop activities will be done mainly by the students under limited guidance of the instructor. These activities can be varied, but not limited to, discussion, games, debate, dramatization and role plays, and video presentations. These activities will be done in groups. Homework is mainly completed in writing. A topic will be given to students before a workshop. This is the part where individual students will put into writing the ideas, opinions and learning that each has encountered during the lesson presentations and workshops. 4. Learning Objectives

10. Classroom Rules
FOUR VIOLATION CODES = 10 POINTS DEDUCTED FROM YOUR FINAL GRADE
1. The standard DTC suit uniform must be worn at all times during the class. Kitchen and Sport uniforms are not allowed. 2. Attendance is mandatory. This class will abide by the rules and regulation of the college as written in its Section 9, Article 22 stating that; “All subjects that students enrolled is required a minimum of 80% class attendance in order to qualify in the final examinations of those particular subjects.” 3. Absences will only be excused for the following reasons: • Death in the family • Verifiable hospitalization • Attended a DTC-related activity with an official “Letter of Excuse” from the department involved. All other excuses or reasons are not accepted, and failure to report to class will result in an absence mark for the day. 4. Tardiness will not be accepted. This applies to breaks as well. You will receive one 15minute break during class, and returning from that break late will result in a Breaktime Extension violation. 5. Assignments submitted after the specified date and time are considered LATE. Late assignments will be accepted but will receive a grade of ZERO.
