The 30-metre long inflatable includes Basher Wall, Demolition Ball, Spikey Hump and many more obstacles on the water for people to try to get over or around. Serco Leisure, the managing agent for the site, and Mansfield District Leisure Trust (MDLT) funded the equipment, with £10,000 coming from the trust. Geoff Waller, chairman of MDLT, said: “As a trust, we want to get as many people as possible into our centres, enjoying their

Garden history tours at Abbey

PHILIP Jones is leading garden history tours at Newstead Abbey on Monday, 27th May, at 1pm and 2.30pm. He said: “The Handkerchief Tree (Davidia involucrata), also known as the Dove Tree or Ghost Tree, which can be found in the SubTropical Garden, should be looking at its best by then. It has wonderful bracts that are white and hang down like handkerchiefs on a line.” There is a car parking charge, currently £6. The garden tours are free (charity donation appreciated). Tours can be booked on the day (at the shop/house reception) or email philedjones@ yahoo.co.uk
