Nelle scorse settimane si è concluso un Concorso internazionale promosso e finanziato dalla Regione Lazio, con il sostegno dell’Ordine degli Architetti di Roma e Provincia, denominato “Rigenerare Corviale”. Il progetto “Corviale”, nato negli anni 70 come progetto dell’avanguardia italiana di Architettura, si rivelò, negli anni successivi, un boomerang per chi l’aveva progettato, l’architetto Mario Fiorentino: nove piani, 6 lotti per oltre 6.000 persone, più di 120 famiglie. In pochi anni, Corviale è divenuto il simbolo del “gigantismo” edilizio e del malessere sociale. Oggi, si è chiesto al mondo dell’Architettura di trasformare il Corviale da “città fortificata” a complesso permeabile e accogliente, inserendo funzioni nuove che possano rendere il luogo vitale giorno e notte. I risultati del concorso hanno attribuito il primo premio ad un bel progetto dell’Architetto milanese Laura Peretti. NIP, non è una rivista specializzata in concorsi, né uno strumento ufficiale del mondo dell’Architettura italiana; per questo, siamo andati alla ricerca non del progetto “migliore”, bensì quello che ci sembrava avere introdotto innovazioni creative capaci di far dialogare in modo virtuoso soluzioni architettoniche, funzioni urbanistiche e architettura del paesaggio. È una spiegazione doverosa ai nostri lettori sul perché abbiamo scelto il progetto dello studio Franco Zagari. In recent weeks has ended an international competition promoted and financed by the Region of Lazio, with the support of the Order of Architects of Rome and Province, called “Rebuild Corviale”. The “Corviale” project, born in the 70’s as a project of the Italian avant-garde architecture, turned out, in the following years, as a boomerang for those who had planned it, the architect Mario Fiorentino: nine floors, 6 lots for over 6,000 people, more than 120 families. In a few years, Corviale has become the symbol of “gigantism” housing and social malaise. Today, has been asked the World Architecture to transform the Corviale from “walled city” into a complex permeable and welcoming one, inserting new features that can make the vital place day and night. The results of the competition awarded the first prize to a great project by the milanese Architect Laura Peretti. NIP, is not a magazine specialized in competitions nor an official tool of the world of Italian Architecture; for that, we went not to research the “best” project, but what seemed us to have introduced creative innovations, able to create dialogue so virtuous and architectural design, urban planning and landscape architecture functions. It is an explanation of duty to our readers about why we chose the project by Franco Zagari studio.
