Buchstabler is a pivotable rack for pocket books. With purchases kept on a minimum, a maximum amount of books is stored in a space-saving way and clearly arranged. The rack is stuck together, stands freely and detached and – if necessary – it can become higher and higher. Therefore, it is possible to assemble Buchstabler at coffee table height (two levels), up to Buchstabler tower height (seven levels). Buchstabler is stabilized with a simple, but clever technique: a string connects the base and the top of the shelf. The tension, produced by twisting the string, holds the shelf tightly together. It becomes nearly invisible when completely filled with pocket books, so that it leaves the stage to the printings which thus can display themselves on their best behaviour (front). A base made of cast concrete makes the rack stable.

Buchstabler, ein Regal für Taschenbücher, verstaut mit minimalem Materialaufwand ein Maximum an Büchern. Dabei sind die Taschenbücher platzsparend und übersichtlich untergebracht (ca. 25 Taschenbücher pro Etage). Das Regal wird gesteckt, ist drehbar, steht frei im Raum und kann nach Bedarf Etage für Etage in die Höhe wachsen. So kann Buchstabler von Beistelltischhöhe mit zwei Etagen bis hin zum Bücherturm mit sieben Etagen aufgebaut werden. Auf eine einfache, jedoch wirkungsvolle Weise wird Buchstabler stabilisiert: Eine EndlosSchnur verläuft vertikal vom Sockel zur Deckplatte, wird durch Drehen gespannt und sorgt so für Zusammenhalt. Voll bestückt mit Taschenbüchern wird Buchstabler nahezu unsichtbar und überlässt die Bühne den Büchern, die in jeder Etage individuell angeordnet und mit sichtbarer Frontpage präsentiert werden können. An der Basis sorgt ein Sockel aus Zementguss für Standfestigkeit.
