school campus - BILDUNGSCAMPUS DEUTSCHORDENSTRAĂ&#x;E LOCATION Vienna, Austria PHASE Detail design intent SIZE 17,000 m2 (182,986 sf) ROLE Team member under the guidance of design team of Shibukawa Eder Architects

BC DOS is a new school campus in Vienna designed by the renowned design studio Shibukawa Eder Architects. Design is a multistorey building carefully accommodating the topographic and orientation conditions on site and therefore creating two very different facade approaches. The south facade is broken up in pairs of two storeys with spacious terraces which offer dynamic communication and creative areas. The freelance work that has been done under careful guidance of Shibukawa Eder Architects has concerned several exterior details, their functionality as well as their implementation within the overall design intent of the project.

mixed-use high rise - NO.2 OPUS PLACE LOCATION Atlanta, Georgia PHASE Documentation in progress SIZE 995,300 sf (92,460 m2) ROLE Active team member since the concept design

Located adjacent to the Arts District of Midtown Atlanta, No.2 Opus Place is the initial phase of a master planned development which will be an integral component of the Midtown Art Walk, a unique pedestrian experience containing creative landscape, lighting, and interactive artistic elements along a half mile promenade between key transit stations in the district. The initial tower of 53-stories is comprised of luxury residential units in a single structure inclusive of ground level retail, enclosed structured parking and office space. Four distinct curtain wall glass planes define each of the symmetrical sides of the tower.

university campus - SHANGAI LIXIN UNIVERSITY OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE LOCATION Shangai, China PHASE Competition - 3rd place SIZE 400,000 m2 ROLE Team member

Designing a whole new campus for Lixin University in a developing area of Shangai required taking a holistic approach. We envisioned a composition that is a made of uniquely designed elements that are especially well suited to a particular purpose and that when combined create catalytic environments with spatial efficiency, stimulating innovative practices and unique experiences. This “synergy of parts approach is reflected in both program and architectural elements.

piedmont wellness center - PINEWOOD FOREST LOCATION Fayetteville, Georgia PHASE Under construction SIZE 55,000 sf (5,110 m2) ROLE Active team member since schematic design revision

An idea behind the design of this two-story structure was to keep all the moves simple; dominate vertical lines of the glass facade are meant to oppose the linearity of the building. The facility on the contrast is accommodating quite a unique hybrid in a “medically integrated wellness center“. Beside expected gym, fitness uses and Olympic pool, there are also spaces for medical professionals, including physical therapists and exercise physiologists, as well as a therapy pool for recovering patients.

commercial adaptive reuse - INTERFACE HQ LOCATION Atlanta, Georgia PHASE Completed in 2018 SIZE 40,000 sf (3,700 m2) ROLE Participation through concept design and schematic design

The existing low-rise building located near the Arts Center transit station in Midtown underwent a complete facade renovation with significant attention to the design of the building systems, focusing on its overall carbon footprint as Interface stayed true to its two-decades-long commitment to sustainable design. The new headquarters is a design-forward workplace where employees, customers and partners can learn, work, play and refresh while the well-being is being promoted through environmentally-friendly features and biophilic design.

mixed-use redevelopment - INISTANBUL LOCATION Istanbul, Turkey PHASE Under Construction SIZE 280,000 m2 ROLE Participation in Schematic Design (Stage III and IV)and Design Development (Stage I and II) documentation

Mixed-use redevelopment of an industrial site near historic Istanbul. With over 4,000 housing units, this project responds to the rising demand for integrated urban living at the heart of a growing metropolis. The master plan interprets life as a path marked by universal stages, from childhood to retirement, and then folds this path into a physical design for the site. The unique interests and needs of each stage of life drive the design. More social, activated spaces are balanced by relaxing, contemplative scenes.

urban renovation and extension - WILKINS PLAZA AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY LOCATION Fairfax, Virginia PHASE Documentation in progress SIZE 55,000 sf (5,100 m2) ROLE Participation through design development

The new renovated and extended student plaza is designed in a way to accommodate a variety of uses divided into three linear zones of space by a combination of different paving patterns and paver colors that work together to create one coherent space that is a visual signature of the campus identity. Special emphasis was put into a spectrum of well-being of students from emotional to social and physical with student voice and expression walls, banners with social imagery, calming water feature for self-reflection while at the same time keeping an option to be always be connected with the world via new multifunctional ‘smart’ poles installed along the plaza.

commercial high-rise - BRIDGESTONE AMERICAS HQ LOCATION Nashville, Tennesse PHASE Completed in 2017 SIZE 550,000 sf (51,100 m2) ROLE Participation through construction documentation and administration

Located in the heart of Nashville’s SoBro District, Bridgestone Tower is a building that presents an all-glass, clean and sleek composition, with individual planes of glass extending beyond the building and roof line. A structured slab setback within the building enclosure allows for vertical connectivity between floors and departments, while creating unique double-height spaces and vertical circulation with compelling views and natural light. At night, the building comes alive with dynamic LED illumination that can exemplify brand standards, support unique community events, or mark celebratory moments - a fitting complement to downtown Nashville’s thriving nightlife, concerts, and sporting events.

refugee housing - PARIS CENTER In the year when Europe was confronted with massive immigration crisis, a group of graduate students decided to offer what they saw as a kind and welcoming response to a humane crisis using architecture as a tool. The intent was to provide the new coming refugees with a safe and inviting temporary home, where they could find their feet and set themselves for a fresh start. A site that was chosen was in the 4th District, in the city center of Paris, with an old building, built in the 1960s for the purpuses of the local police department and it was set up for a new renovation. The main strategies were efficiency and affordability combined with an introduction of a new oasis that symbolized security as well as a look though the window into the new world. Servicing the users was put at the forefront of every design thought, from designing the adaptible furniture in the new dorm-rooms to planning the ramps and small areas of refuge in the green courtyard. Only five days before the final presentation, and after a full semester of deep research and hard work, a very sad event of Novemebr 2015 Paris attacks happened.

The goal of the project was to design a single family house that would be categorized as a high perfomance home, functional and affordable, yet never compromise the comfort of the future habitants. In order to find an optimized design solution, the process consisted of a series of interactions that were supported with numerical evaluation methods. The site has a unique history from 19th century, so the design strategy was to create a building shape which maintains the historical value of the site and harmonizes with the urban context but also meets all the technical requirements to be energy efficient.

The idea of this project is to create a common and unique space to display outstanding Croatian products. The interior design was carried for a brand called PIP d.o.o. that produces quality products made of honey. The space that was created would be both a showroom and a shop, defined by a central construction that is imitating a bee hive

conceptual thinking - CONNECTING MULTIFACETED UNITS INTO A SET The task was to make a multipurpose space using multifaceted units for displays at the fair exibitions. It was inspired by free floating icebergs that create different surfaces in different moments. The elements used in the project were wooden flat surfaces flexible in their horizontal placement on steel girders with adjustable height, where the vertical communication was located in the space between the girders which is two meters wide.
