Our Amazing Community
BY NAN KOSSIN, POCONO FARMS RESIDENT
I just wanted to say how happy and proud I am to be living in Pocono Farms. The past few years, and especially this past year, have brought so many incredible and positive changes to The Farms that I felt the need to mention them and to acknowledge those who help make our community the wonderful place it is.
First, second and third… the pool, the pool, the pool! Not only is it beautiful, but it serves every person who wants to take advantage of it. Not only the swim team, but children, teens and adults as well. Kudos to our General Manager Dave, the board and whoever else was involved in that major project. I realize that making sure the pool could be open by Memorial Day Weekend was also weather dependent, but I KNOW that you all did EVERYTHING in your power to meet that deadline. The fact that the pool opened on schedule shows the tenacity and dedication of those involved in creating our incredible pool area and how hard they worked to satisfy the residents of Pocono Farms. I also want to acknowledge those involved in creating our new playground. How refreshing it is to look at that area and see new, innovative, state-of-the-art equipment for children of all ages. It is certainly another aspect of The Farms that we can all be proud of.
Then there are all the activities our community offers on a weekly basis. I am always amazed when I read the Weekly Update, which thanks to our Communications Coordinator, Brendan Balara and others, gives us a concise list of upcoming events, all in one place. I know Krissie, with her two hats as Fitness Director as well as Recreation Director, coordinates the multiple and varied events offered at Pocono Farms. I don’t know how she does it. I am exhausted just reading the list of activities she is offering our community residents.
